OpenSAFELY is a highly secure, transparent, open-source software platform that allows research access to the UK’s primary care records. It was developed during the pandemic and has earned the trust of patients, professionals, and privacy campaigners.

Come and help us celebrate the OpenSAFELY community and its successes to date!

Over the past four years, we have:

  • supported more than 150 projects from 22 organisations including universities, government bodies, and the NHS;
  • built new tools to support reproducible research with patient data;
  • worked with users to publish over 75 peer-reviewed academic papers, many of them in the most respected journals;
  • played a pivotal role in shaping healthcare policy.

This year’s conference is an opportunity to:

  • Find out about recent research conducted via OpenSAFELY;
  • Present your own research and tell your stories to like-minded colleagues;
  • Attend technical workshops to learn more about using the platform;
  • Hear from the Bennett team about recent changes, and future plans;

It is open to all - we welcome everyone who has contributed to the success of OpenSAFELY, and prospective users and partners interested in joining our community. This event will be of particular interest to policymakers, researchers and healthcare professionals.

Join us on Day 1 (Monday, 25 November) for talks about OpenSAFELY research, data infrastructure, and open science. Day 2 (Tuesday, 26 November) will have technical workshops to learn more about how to get the most out of the platform.
